Work in Progress...

I am enjoying sewing! Mason now has a comforter from Snookie (not the one for his crib...but for his mini crib in our room) and two blankets Snookie & I made.

Project Runway Edition (haha):

1st blanket made for Mason with cowboy print on one side and flannel on the other:

2nd blanket with blue stripes on one side and dots on the other:

I like the idea of making the blanets any material I want and any size I want. Mom & I stayed up until 3am sewing one night, we didn't get started until 11pm.

On Sunday, I decided I would try an outfit...I sewed the pants only to find out it was ONE LEG of the pants I was supposed to fold the material over and have two peices. Haha...Oh well I am learning how the patterns work. If I would have succeeded it would have been a cute, cheap, made with love outfit!

Lately...

Always a fun weekend with Noah...He is so funny! His new thing is to say, "Did you hear me? Did you hear what I said?" Just like I'm sure is said to him many times a day.

Mason's first Valentines Day gifts from Snookie & Ringo!

I loved having a HUSBAND on Valentines Day this year...We will have MANY more to come :)

Love Mason Gifts!

The snow! Ok, I should have blogged when I was excited about it...we had fun out in the snow. Now, I am over it and saying please NO MORE.

Ok, this is from January...

Mason Wayne

Mason was smiling at his momma today! It was so neat to see how much he has grown this month. He actually looks like a baby now! His head is at the top of my uterus and his feet are at the bottom...which explains why I feel him kicking way down there where Brian isn't able to feel it! The doctor said he should do a somersault by 30 weeks. I sure am praying he does! She said daddy won't be able to feel until he does :( She also asked if I was going to be able to make room for him. I looked at her a little confused...she said because my torso is so short it's full already! So, this explains why my ribs are sore already...and I will continue to grow OUT! Now, with my smaller tatas I was able to see my feet again...ha ha! BUT not anymore now it's the belly! It is a catch all. Also, I gained 5 YES 5 lbs. since I was at the doc a month ago. I have gained 11 lbs. the entire time. Treadmill here I come! I have my appetite plus some back and I am always hungry!

Friday Night at the Police Staion

No...I didn't go to jail or anything! I'm just living the life of a police officer's wife. Which my mom did for years...props to her! Well, we didn't have school today so I stayed home rested and really didn't get near as much done as I was hoping to. I worked on the taxes, did some laundry, cleaned the downstairs, but didn't make it upstairs. After being home all day, Brian and I had talked about using one of our gift cards from Christmas and going out to dinner when he got home from work. So, as I am putting on my make up, after I had showered and did my hair, Brian calls. It's 7:30, which is when he usually gets home, and said there had been a DWI accident and he had to stay and work on it. Him knowing I was getting ready to go to dinner says, I can pick us up something and bring it to the station. So, that I did. Instead of going to Texas Roadhouse on a Friday night out of the house, we had Subway at the police station while Brian was working on a report. He had a chance to show me his traffic office, now that he works for the traffic unit of the department. I enjoyed seeing where he worked and also seeing a couple of officers I knew. Brian loves his job! Now I am home it's 11:15 and he is still not here :(

A Police Officer's Wife

A special kind of woman: a cut above the rest,
That's A Police Officer's Wife, rating her best.

How many good byes are whispered, joined with a fond embrace?
As duty steals her man, for the danger he must face.

How often have meals been ruined - or tender moments disturbed,
by a call for special duty, sparking loyalty unswerved?

It's a devil of a job, for an angel like this,
Who......for the love of her man, must forsake that kiss,

She can run a garden tractor; even paint a room in need,
How she can stretch a dollar is a miracle indeed.

She's mother, lover, chauffeur and nurse,
A living symbol of: "for better or for worse."

Rich is the man, reaping his rewards in life,
Who chose to be the other half of
A Police Officer's Wife.

School Days

I love my 7th graders...OK, most of them! Today was like a Friday, because we don't have school tomorrow! YAY! I couldn't be happier about a Friday off! However, I do love being a teacher and having relationships with my students. One thing that happened today that made me laugh was a sign one of them made for me and put on my desk. She even cut out numbers and put beside it. It read,
"Please take a number I am busy grading, talking to my belly, and snacking but I'll get back to you. Love, Mrs. Murphree."
Oh Jazz, she is a nut!

I also received a memorable gift today from one of my students. Skye, she is such a sweetheart, I love having her in class. She brought me a blanket that she and her mom made last night. It read, "For a precious baby boy. From: Skye." It also had a bag that the blanket fits in. It was so sweet of her I love it and so will Mason!

Wow that is one BIG BELLY!

Baby Baby Baby

That's all I can think about lately. Yes, a baby! Mason Wayne Murphree is due to grace us with his presence May 31st. I hoping he comes a little early, like maybe May 17th...that would be the BEST birthday present. There is an enormous amount of preparation that goes into getting ready for baby. There are decisions to make that I did not even know existed. My newest addiction is baby coupons and websites with discounted items. I have spent my spare time registering for websites with free samples and coupons. Today I was introduced to diapers.com...thanks Amy! You can order your diapers with Ecoupons and they are delivered to your door. Amazing! Besides the coupon frenzy I have been on we have also started to decorate the nursery. Brian & I have looked at pictures of nurseries online for days...OK maybe months now and this past weekend we decided to make a decision and go for it. We ended up with light blue on top, dark brown on the bottom and we are going to put up a white chair rail around the middle. I have also purchased some fabric to make Mason's bedding and eventually his curtains and different items around the room. The possibilities are endless..ha. My mom, grandmother, and I are going to plan a sewing weekend where we can get everything made...I am looking forward to this so much! I am not the best at sewing but I want to get better and now is my chance. It is going to be a little buckaroo room!

Here is the room before:

Here is the room so far after the light blue and brown paint are complete (please ignore the ladder and objects covering the floor):

A big thanks to Ringo and Snookie for coming out this weekend and helping us! Little Mase will appreciate it!

Our little cowboy's fabric (we actually did not get the red and we are going to get a light blue instead of this blue):

We went looking yesterday at rugs, we have to purchase a cowhide rug for the room to be complete:

Now I found this on ebay and I want to create something similar with the shades but not the horses:

Here is the wall decal I love:

Hopefully, we will have more of the room put together in a couple weeks. Looking forward to seeing it all put together.

Now for a mommy update: I am feeling much better. However, the second I say that I will be back to getting sick on a daily basis. I am 23 weeks prego now and last week still had problems keeping down my food. I am not so excited about getting bigger and bigger each week. When people ask when I am due and say OH MY! All I can think about is the kiss FM GET OVER IT line. I want to call and say yes my stomach is huge and I am not due until May...Get over it! Oh, and to those of you who see me each week yes I get bigger and guess what next week my tummy will be even BIGGER just prepare yourself and keep the comments to yourself. Ha ha...OK that is only to a couple people the rest of you have been so sweet. Saying I look so cute and have the pregnant glow...I'm not feeling the glow yet though. On a better hand, it is a great feeling to feel Mason moving around and know that he is growing like he should be so far. I am so thankful for him. Please keep the prayers coming our way!

I am also looking for prospects to keep Mason next school year anyone have any suggestions please let me know!
