Almost 6 months old!

My Mason man is almost 6 months old! That doesn't seem possible. He is sleeping in his own bed all the way upstairs. Last night he actually fell asleep in his bed on his own. He was so sleepy and fighting his sleep so Brian laid him down up there. We heard him talking for a few minutes and then he gave it up. Then, I had to wake him up this morning to eat before we got on the road. I dreaded him sleeping up there, but he is doing GREAT! He is also sitting up on his own now. He hasn't figured out to get to the sitting up position, but he can sit when you put him in that position. As far as his food goes he has cereal with a fruit or veggie twice a day. He LOVES apples! He has liked everything we have given him. He wasn't so sure about the green beans. Very funny face while eating those but he did eat them! He is such a good baby! Lately, he has been a little fussy at times but his bottom two teeth are about to come it! Pictures of him coming soon when I am able to get them on my new laptop!

New Computer

I just received my MacBook Pro today! I can't wait to download pics, music, and all kinds of things all in one place! Also, we use apple computers at school so now I can work from home on things I can easily use at school so excited! Thanks MISD for having a computer buy program!

Babies, Babies, Babies!

Everywhere I look. OK, so I have one with me 24/7 (when I’m not at work) but not just mine. There will be more soon!

Miss Presley Dean Spoerl will make her appearance sometime around January 17th. We had Ashley’s shower this weekend! It was alot of fun! I have 2 brothers, so Ashley is the closest thing I will ever have to a sister…I love her!

My newest projects have included making diaper cakes & burp cloths. I loved making this so girly:

I also made this blanket zebra on one side and pink bumpy on the other with her name on it:

I know you can’t see them well, but I also sewed together some burp cloths that were embroidered, and designed some onesies!

We also will soon get to experience the arrival of little Miss Harper Marie Suttle! Her shower was a couple weekends ago. I didn’t have my camera with me, so I had to get these from Brook’s facebook.

This was her diaper cake I made!

I’m an old person already.

I have more ailments anyway. After 12 hours of labor and still no baby I had a c-section…thank you mom I appreciate that one ha-ha! But…the incision still has one little spot not all the way healed and that was 8 weeks ago. I have been going to the wound care center every Thursday for them to check the progress and make sure it is infection free (I know TMI). Well, yesterday they said it should be all the way healed by next Thursday whenever I go…l am praying so!

Also, yesterday I had another appointment for a sonogram and found out that I had gallstones. I have had bad attacks at night and some pain during the day after I eat. The doctor said it is common after pregnancy. I have an appointment with the surgeon next Tuesday. The thought of another surgery is not settling well…I am feeling a little down about it. They said the recovery is usually 1 to 2 weeks…so I will barely be recovered and back to teaching I will go. I am looking forward to this school year!

Mason made it all day with me to all my appointments…I am feeling nervous about going to back to school and not being with him. Although he has many people who would willingly watch him he is going everywhere Mommy goes until school starts :)

Brown and Tan….

The theme of my house is brown and tan. All the walls are tan and everything else seems to be brown! It is driving me crazyyyyy! We have lived in our house almost a year and a half and I am ready to change things up. Every room in my house is a work in progress. We almost finish something and then move on to the next thing…which is also driving me nuts! I am so busy and not home enough during the school year that I think it didn’t really bother me but now that I am home for the summer and have my little man I am here a lot more and need change. So my first project is going to be the dinning room. Like I said BOWN AND TAN!

These are iphone pics.

Starting point (one of the chairs is in the other room because I used it to cut Brian’s hair):

I do love my curtains I will use them somewhere else:

My ideas for the room stem from our Fiesta dishes we received as wedding gifts…I know it’s not expensive china or anything but I do love it! We choose ivory and plum just because I liked the colors and they don’t match anything we have. So we will soon have a room they will match in ;)

Our dinning room furniture consists of a small table and hutch that was Brian’s grandmother’s before she passed away. I love that we have it now…brings more meaning to the room. My idea is to paint the furniture white or ivory and the walls plum and go from there…my husband will flip when I tell him this I just came up with the idea right now!

Pictures that inspire my ideas…

I thought this was a good picture mixing the two colors and little too bright purple. I could see a vase like that on the table though.

I like the contrast between the white furniture and plum walls.

Hopefully, I can start this project soon, but who knows! :)

5 Weeks...

The last 5 weeks of our lives have brought along changes! 5 weeks ago today Mason Wayne Murphree made his appearance and life will never be the same again in a great way! I cannot beleive how much he is loved by not only Brian & I but our family and friends as well. He is a lucky little man. He has blessed our lives in so many ways. I love him more and more everyday. It doesn't seem possible to love him more than I do now but tomorrow I will. God has given us this perfect little angel and I pray he continues to bless us :)

On the other hand, we are TIRED! Haha..talk about sleepy. Mason keeps us up about every two hours. Daddy usually takes the last feeding around 11 or 12 and I am up for the ones throughout the night and then Daddy is back up around 7 or 8 to spend time with him before he has to get ready for work. I am truly thankful for his help! On the weekends we take turns getting up with him.

I started this blog yesterday and now I am going to try and finish it! Our AT&T is not working right and I am not able to watch my regular news this morning while up with Mason...it is driving me crazy that the TV is not working. Mason did do better with his sleeping tonight though he was up at 12:30 and 4:00 he is currently in the swing which he has not been a fan of until I tried again yesterday and he was enjoying it. We will see how long it lasts this time...

Yesterday Mason had a doctors appointment he was 9lbs 14oz, 21 3/4 in which were both in the 50% range for his age. Everything looked great. He got his 2nd hep shot and barely let out a couple wines but that's it!

At 5 weeks he is currently:
Holding his head up when help upright
Grasps things when held in front of him
Smiles socially (and we love it)
It starting to distiguish parents from others

Also...last night Brian was holding him and he turned his head my way when I said his name. Hopefully, he is learning that too!

He fell asleep in the swing so I layed him down in his bed...We will see if he lasts I hear him.

Such a sweet boy in the hospital still:

Mason Wayne Murphree

I have not blogged in forever! The last few weeks of pregnancy were hard on me. I was still working and trying to make it through each day keeping my sanity. I love my 7th graders but they were restless those last few weeks...Just like I was. I'm so happy to not be pregnant anymore and actually hold my sweet baby boy in my arms now! Mason Wayne Murphree made his arrival on May 26th. We induced labor at 9:30am and I was in labor until 9:30pm. Mason's head was wedged in my pelvic bone and not going to fit through...I felt like I needed to push but it wasn't going to happen. The doctor said we needed to do a c-section. I knew it was a possibility because this same thing happened to my mom when she was pregnant with me, and we are built the same. We have small frames and do not have wide hips at all. So, I took the news pretty well. I was feeling awful and ready to hold that little gift from God. Mason was born at 10:31pm, he weighed 8lbs (which was exactly what the Dr. had predicted), and was 19inches long. This was the first time I saw him and still tear up thinking about that moment:

Proud Daddy...He was so Happy:

He is such a blessing and I cannot beleive how much I love him already! In the OR still getting all checked out:

When we finally made it to the Recovery room the nurse and doctor checked me out and then the whole crowd of people who I love and love us rushed in to see the baby. This was at 11:45pm and they had been there all day. I truly feel loved and know there are a lot of people that care about us! Here is a few pictures from the recovery room.

Mason's Nursery SO FAR...

Grandmother and Mom spent the night with me last night and we sewed all day...This was our final product. We still have to conquer the rest of the bedding but at least we have a start!
